Simon is a registered Australian Physiotherapist with a passion for supporting the community along their health and wellbeing journey. He graduated from Monash University with Advanced Research Honours, which he achieved by completing several clinical research projects. He has experience in and is enthusiastic in managing chronic and complex health conditions including: long-standing persistent pain, congenital issues, degenerative conditions, chronic illness, pre and post operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and general aches and pains. Regardless of the issue you’re facing, Simon probably has experience with it – either in the clinic in his previous position in a community health centre, or from his own extensive personal injury history.
Simon uses a person centred approach to support individuals and treats each participant in a unique way that is best suited to their presenting concerns, often combining manual hands-on skills with body weight and resistance-based exercises. His personal philosophy is to empower you to create lasting changes that promote optimal health throughout your life, regardless of the starting point. He is passionate for promoting the attainment of this goal without relying on expensive gym memberships or equipment.
In demonstration of his commitment to best-practice, Simon has published four articles on pain education, shoulder pain rehabilitation, tendon rehabilitation, and risk factors for shoulder injuries. He is a life-learner and regularly participates in post-graduate training and study, including: Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, treatment of back and neck pain, treatment for complex multifactorial pain, and psychologically informed communication.
